5.0 out of 5 stars No More Tears,
By Lori Shea “LA” (Long Island, NY)

I remember the day that “Tears of Fears – Behind Closed Doors…” was delivered in my mailbox. My initial reaction was of how proud I was of Lyn-Dee for accomplishing the writing and publishing of her personal journey. Then as I read, like everyone else who reads her words, I was riveted, transfixed in the stories she tells, the brutally honest way she shares her life lessons with such grace and focus. Long gone are the “He said – She said” which is no longer important in her dynamic… in her world.

Lyn-Dee’s engaging words are with both warning and clear guidance. They are filled with insight and are spoken from the heart by a friend and not by a fair weathered friend.

Lyn-Dee’s target audience is far beyond domestic abuse. It is about self awareness, motivation, inspiration and aspiration.

“Tears of Fears – Behind Closed Doors…” should be part of every schools summer reading curriculum. Every teacher, clergy, human resources director, nurse and doctor should familiarize themselves with Lyn-Dee’s words… much pain could be spared, lives could be saved!

And EVERY parent should share this story with their children. Not just their daughters – for all types of abuse know no boundaries and thankfully neither does Lyn-Dee.

I met the author 35 years ago and knew she was an amazing, unique person. Then I read her book and knew that I had actually short changed her and under estimated her.
I was not able to put the book down once I started to read it. It should make everyone think about the way they are treated by others and the way they treat orthers. It made me search my own soul and started me on the path of forgiving.
Thank you Lyn-Dee for saying what most of us try to bury, you are an inspiration….

I am not only lucky to have read such an inspirational book but am also lucky to be related to the author. It is amazing how much I can relate to someone who I am related to but didn’t have any idea how much until I read her inspirational book. I encourage every woman, especially those who are not aware of how very special they are for whatever reason, be it abuse from childhood, relationships, etc. to read this amazing book. I don’t read very much and woke up around 4am one morning and thought well I’ll go ahead and start reading the book to help me go back to sleep, I couldn’t put it down until I was finished.
Thank you so very much Lyn-Dee for MAKING A DIFFERENCE :)

By Michele Bryant – Alabama

As a victim of abuse — both mental and physical — for 30 years, I wish it been available earlier on in the relationship. I had to learn and gain strength on my own — but if I had had this book, along with it’s invaluable reference material in the back of the book, I would have been long gone — and safer. My mental state would not have been compromised. It has taken me a long time to trust and love a man. Lyn-Dee has found a wonderful man in her life who has given her the strength and love she needed to write this book — so that no other woman would be hurt and destroyed by a man who says he loves her. Ten thumbs up Lyn-Dee! She helps you thru all the steps that it takes to leave an abusive relationship and to love yourself again.

Being a domestic violence sufferer myself, this book was a GOD send. It touched my heart, soul, life. It allowed me to realize there are others out there in the world who went threw or are going threw same thing. To connect with someone I may never meet in person, but connect with on a spiritual and emotional level that I need.
This book is one of the best I have ever read and would recommend it to anyone.

Anyone who has been a victim of abuse would greatly benefit in witnessing the courage of Lyn-Dee Eldridge. I am grateful for her shared journey- and being a demonstration that there is “another side to these stories” that are quite wonderful!

Many women exist in silent desperation in an abusive household. As a survivor of an abusive childhood and marriage, Lyn-Dee Eldridge (or Woobie, as she calls herself) wants to show other women that it’s not only possible to escape from the abuse, but also to go on to live a happy and joyous life.

In Tears of Fears Behind Closed Doors, Woobie tells her story, beginning in childhood when the abuse began. Focusing on the universal aspects of abuse, she doesn’t reveal every aspect of her own experience. Instead she shares the parts that many readers would identify with, including some of the things she did to handle her own situation.

Positive self-talk and personal development are key, according to Woobie. Only by learning to love and respect herself can a woman get up the courage to end the cycle of abuse.

Included along with her inspirational story and helpful advice are numerous resources for women who still find themselves in abusive situations. Legal help, daily exercises, hot-line numbers, and addresses for women’s advocates are provided in the appendix. And the author is available as a speaker to share her story with women’s groups.

Woobie’s message is written in a conversational style, which lends itself to the occasional typo and a bit of rambling. But overall, she shares positive information and a spirit of hope. Tears of Fears Behind Closed Doors would be a great inspiration for a woman who finds herself in an abusive situation.

5.0 out of 5 starsPhenomenal easy read.  IT IS A MUST READ FOR ALL!

Tears for Fears- What a phenomenal easy read book that really changed how I felt about my past experiences and how I see myself today. I have not experienced anything as intense as described in this book, but in self analyzing my life’s journey, there have been experiences that have impacted my life that were not pleasant to say the least, but I have been able to survive, and learn. Tears For Fears Behind Closed Doors gives you the tools that all women, young and younger, to “fix” themselves, strengthen those weaknesses and believe in the beauty of themselves so that life’s challenges are handled with dignity and self worth no matter what is thrown your way! I wish I would have had the knowledge from this book and perhaps would not have made the mistakes that I have made that have put me in difficult positions.
This powerful little book helps you to look in the mirror and love who you are, forgive what you’ve done and move on to better things. You learn that you are worth better!

4.0 out of 5 stars This is a must read for everyone!

This book is not only GREAT for people who come from abusive homes and or relationships, but it is also GREAT for woman and girls who are looking for personal development and growth. The book really does show you how to grow out of certain situations and how to overcome them all while becoming a stronger woman!!!

Further, this book is great to try to understand where abusive woman and girls are coming from. It is very hard for some people to understand how women (girls and young adults) feel and why they might stay in a abusive relationship or why it takes them so long to get out. This book really helps you to help these women(girls and young adults)instead of tearing them down and not being there for them as a friend.

Also, if you’re an adult going through a divorce, this book shows you what not to do and what to do with your children. And how certain actions from a parent can affect them long term even if it is verbal actions!!!

If you are a teenager or a young adult and your parents are going through a divorce this will allow you to understand where you should stand and how you should be treated.

This book is a must read and it’s put in light and simple reading.
